Former Govenor “vaginal probe” McDonnell and his lovely wife

0121-virginia-governor_full_380    This is beyond pitiful because they took a right turn at entitlement, drove up arrogance and crashed into stupidity.  And it sure shows the ugly truth of so called conservative purists.

11 days into his governorship he was being lauded as the next Republican candidate for President. 11 days out he and his bride are under a 14 count Federal indictment. This is the conservative side of conservatives. I guess the “serve” part of the word has to do with oneself because they sure as hell aren’t serving others. Unless it’s in prison mess hall. Don’t bend over in the shower Bob!

And as far as Christie, I’m at a loss. If he’s telling the truth then he’s the most oblivious human on the planet and shouldn’t be governor. If he’s lying he must either be delusional or think he’s smarter than everyone else and shouldn’t be governor. Either way, shutting down the GWB certainly was a Bridge to Nowhere.

And speaking of Bridges. Although not Jeff Bridges . Here is what one of my favorite writers had to say.

You Can Soon Play Angry Birds Gate To Gate!

angry-birdsWoo hoo. The FAA has finally determined that it is safe to use your iPads, iPhones, Kindles, Androids, and other electronic devices on airplanes even below 10,000 feet. Thanks to the miracles of modern science, you’ll soon be able to play your favorite mind-numbing games starting as soon as you walk on the plane to when you get up out of your seat and catch your bags falling from the overhead bin. And the plane won’t crash! Progress marches on.

Per the FAA press release:

WASHINGTON– The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Michael Huerta today announced that the FAA has determined that airlines can safely expand passenger use of Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) during all phases of flight, and is immediately providing the airlines with implementation guidance.

Due to differences among fleets and operations, the implementation will vary among airlines, but the agency expects many carriers will prove to the FAA that their planes allow passengers to safely use their devices in airplane mode, gate-to-gate, by the end of the year.

The FAA based its decision on input from a group of experts that included representatives from the airlines, aviation manufacturers, passengers, pilots, flight attendants, and the mobile technology industry.

Passengers will eventually be able to read e-books, play games, and watch videos on their devices during all phases of flight, with very limited exceptions. Electronic items, books and magazines, must be held or put in the seat back pocket during the actual takeoff and landing roll. Cell phones should be in airplane mode or with cellular service disabled – i.e., no signal bars displayed—and cannot be used for voice communications based on FCC regulations that prohibit any airborne calls using cell phones. If your air carrier provides Wi-Fi service during flight, you may use those services. You can also continue to use short-range Bluetooth accessories, like wireless keyboards.

View From A Terrorist

I am fully prepared to embrace the label of terrorist as the President’s right hand man Dan Pfeiffer called me, and other conservatives yesterday, which is quite a departure from the civility lecture Obama gave the nation in 2011 – just saying, but if this is where he wants to go, then bring it on. What has prompted the apoplectic reaction from the administration is the fact that someone finally has the chutzpah to challenge the “dictator in chief” and is demanding concessions for his debt ceiling increase request and the need for yet another CR. Let’s not forget that in 2008, Obama called Bush’s request for a debt ceiling increase a sign of failed leadership, and I couldn’t agree more. Obama has failed the leadership test here and abroad as Putin is clearly demonstrating. If Democrats want another debt ceiling increase, then it comes at a cost – spending and growth reforms need to be put in place. Let’s further scale down the rate of growth and let’s put in place some real policies that will ignite the economy; mainly energy development policies. Has anyone seen what is going on in North Dakota lately? We can not continue to just raise the debt ceiling and conduct business as usual, that is the definition of insanity, and the President’s intransigent posture is hurting this country.

Re: the CR, yesterday, the incredibly annoying Harry Reid said that Cruz’s filibuster was just a waste of time in getting a CR passed. Really? October 1 comes around every year, and Harry Reid knew full well what needed to be done, yet he and everyone else took their 5 week vacation in August. Talk about a waste of time, and a waste of flesh that is Harry Reid. Cruz’s filibuster has helped bring to light my objection, and many other conservatives objection to this atrocity that is Obamacare, and when people like Dan Pfeiffer choose to call representatives like Cruz a terrorist, he is directly calling me that as well, and I don’t appreciate it. In fact, it makes me want to fight, and fight hard, which I plan to do, and which many conservatives are now planning to do as well. This reaction is also coming from the establishment of the compliant GOP, who have never represented people like me in the first place, so I think many of them are in for a rude awakening. Over the last five years, this President has been anything but civil to them as has his lap dog media, and unfortunately we had sheep in people like McCain and Harkin who would stand and take the abuse hoping to just be like and invited to the next cocktail party but there is a new invigorated brand of conservatives, i.e.: terrorists, who do not care if anyone “likes us”, and who are tired of watching this country decline while elitist politicians dither. The fact that we are even talking about another “continuing resolution” is a clear and unavoidable sign that this current government has failed. We can not operate this country on six month CR’s, we need to more responsible with our money and run this country like a business, not a daycare. It’s time that we have adult like conversations about policy and dispense with the child like conversations about personalities.

The Gipper

50 years later, and still no one has articulated the downside to big government better than the Gipper.

Folks, since 1964 this country has spent over $15 trillion dollars on eradicating poverty and today, the poverty statistics are the same if not a little worse. It was reported not too long ago that 4 out of 5 American families are one missed paycheck away from poverty, yet every year and every campaign, big government politicians, particularly Democrats, run on helping the poor – do you believe them anymore? Do you really think more money will cure the problem? Do you honestly believe they want to solve the problem?

The other day Mersault understandably was frustrated over the VA health care administration, to which I remind everyone that is what government health care is – a bloated, inefficient bureaucracy ran by bureaucrats focused more on file organization and lunch breaks than the administration of care, and that is what we are all in for with Obamacare. No one has ever been able to explain to me how adding an additional layer of bureaucracy to an industry can bring down costs.

Welfare, disability, unemployment and labor force measurements are all at alarming levels, so my question to big government advocates is – how is this working out for you?
