Seems like Paul is taking after Biden.

If so, not in a good way. I just thought the line “turns out he’s a taker, not a maker” was pretty funny.

I met Rand Paul last summer. I can’t say I was very impressed.

I really like Frum. Especially since he was excommunicated from the Republican Party by the “real” conservatives. Sadly, Frum is a real conservative yet since he isn’t a fanatical ideological zealot who has no situational awareness and can’t comprehend future consequences that results from behavior in the now (Shwooo. That’s a mouthfull) he’s been accused of having the leprosy of being liberal. It’s really pathetic that a true intellectual conservative is cast as a traitor to “the cause” and a sell out. Paul said on Rachel Maddow’s show awhile back that he supports discrimination. That’s how much of an absolutist libertarian he is. Again with the obsession of ideological utopia!

Now Rand Paul wishes he could challenge Rachel Maddow to a duel.

“I take it as an insult, and I will not lie down and say people can call me dishonest, misleading or misrepresenting,” Paul said on ABC’s This Week. “I have never intentionally done so and like I say, ‘If dueling were legal in Kentucky, if they keep it up, it’d be a duel challenge.’”

Yeah, just shoot guns at each other. That solves everything.

Remember during the Republican convention in 2004 when Chris Mathews activated Zell Miller’s very fragile emotional stability by merely asking questions and Zell flipped out and said “I wish we lived in the day when you could challenge a person to a duel”. In other words, if you can’t defend your position and become so flummoxed and frustrated that the conclusional leap one makes is to murder the source of your frustration, then you’ve got issues. Not the least of which is an inability to substantiate your argument. I guess when you can’t retort that the threat of murder is a fall back position.
