I have been meaning to write something over the last few days, but have been busy and can’t seem to zero in on one topic – there’s so much to write about and I apparently have ADD.

This is just one subject I was going to address. But there are lot of others, so feel free to bring up whatever you would like:

You know I keep hearing liberals and democrats saying that they would have preferred single payer to the ACA. My question is – why didn’t they go for it then? They had the votes in both chambers and the White House. They did not need one single republican vote, so why didn’t the do it?

Why didn’t they go for what they wanted in the first place? I think when they say that, they don’t realize how stupid it makes them sound.

Because they didn’t have the votes. Not all Democrats support single payer.

They sure seem to be afraid of Obama, so I would think that he could have marshaled them to the cause had he been committed.

Talk about facts not in evidence.

Because you have a simplistic and naive view of how the ACA came about. This article will help, if you care to read it.

“why didn’t they go for it then?”

Great question. Contrary to popular conservative opinion, he answer has something to do with how far right our government has swung in the past several decades.
