Welcome GMB

04 Aug

I want to extend a hand of friendship and a sincere Hello to GMB. I am confident that his points of view will be a valued asset to our burgeoning blog and add immensely to the diversity of the dialog.  If I may be so bold as to presume something here, I think both Cluster and myself (Watson  too) had grown so weary of the tribalism and the self regulated isolation at B4V that that in part contributed to our collaboration. I have many character flaws and as such I probably wouldn’t make a good Christian but with that said, I have a tendency to react with infuriation over what some people think. Especially if they cocoon themselves from any challenge. It’s a cheap, weak defense against exposure. Maybe it’s my competitive nature or my need to be recognized as being correct that motivates me. Whatever, I’ll spare all my whining self-analysis but I just cannot stand conformation bias which has reached critical mass at B4V. From my 9 yr perspective of participating on that blog; outside the fence or not, I was surprised to learn that the dwindling commenters are also moderators. This explains allot. I will confess that it will give me immense pleasure to see their ranks dwindle even further. For a very long time I thought GMB was one of them . I am glad to be proven wrong and I am sure they are shocked shocked! to discover that not only have they lost Cluster, but GMB as well. I guess my suggested experiment was proven correct. GMB made a comment describing the obvious and the comment was deleted. Attached to it was a stern warning. When there are more prisoners than guards, the facility has a problem. Anyway, welcome aboard and have some fun speaking your mind. Very few rules here. We are open minded and tolerant. Like all good liberals!

GMB and I have had our battles but I agree with him more often than not, so it’s great see him join the ranks. Now I have another like minded colleague to battle the vicious liberals who gang up on me! LOL.

Vicious liberals. HA! Better get a rabies shot. How was the va ca? Saw some scenery? Drank some liquor? Ate good food? Listened to good music and spent time with wife/lover/friend? I sure hope so. Glad you’re back. I can use the help.

You have done well in my absence grasshopper. Had a great time and glad to be home. I will send you a few more pics over the coming days, but spent some time in the Flathead Lake area of Montana, and then went over to Seattle to drink micro brews with the pot smoking liberals – LOL. Seattle is a cool city and the weather was fantastic.

I hope you don’t mind me joining you form time to time. I’m tired of the personal attacks and the constant negativity at B4V. I joined B4B in 2004 because I wanted to learn from and understand other people and I have learned a lot.

I know you and I have had our differences over the years, but I’ve also feel we have have some productive discussions as well. I’d like to continue responding to your posts if you are game.

You are more than welcome here. As Mitch said this is forum for divergent opinion and you definitely have divergent opinions – LOL. Just kidding. You have always been a good commentator and I enjoy reading your opinions, so have at it and welcome aboard.

Thanks. I’ve always enjoyed reading your posts as well. I’m guessing that now that I will be commenting here you may find we have more in common than you think. BTW, I was in the Seattle area last summer visiting my wife’s relatives. Great area and the weather for us was about perfect. I haven’t been over to the Flathead area for years, but I remember it as fantastic.

Casper, you are welcome to participate any time. I’ve learned allot from them as well. Mainly that they are complete (fill in the blank) and I have no use for them, their ideas nor their attitudes. Attitudes especially. I wish I was a bucket of water and they were the Wicked Witch of the West. But ironically, the later seems to be happening. It’s just a matter of time until they have a post about our new blogs, dedicated in part to their eradication. Oh I can just anticipate the wringing of hands, the vitriol and the lashing out. As Orson Wells said, fuck ’em.

Well now, it seems the Wife read this first, She laughed, then told me my propaganda was working!

Seriously, thanks for the welcome. I will do the best to present the conservative side of politics that a poor ole country boy with several dirt clods shoved up each nostril can.

Here and at Watson’s I can be myself. What a refreshing experience.

A stern warning warning you say? Was it delivered with a hefty explosion and a engine block falling from the sky? Perhaps a few mortar rounds that were bought by ton instead of by case?
Several hundred 7.62×37 fired in my direction?

I’m sorry folks but the copy FM 3-37 that I have does not cover the proper response to a “sternly worded warning”

I’ll keep looking though but maybe that section was removed by the “moderator”

In the future, I see more refugees arriving on these shores. I hope they receive as nice a welcome as I have.

As do I my friend, as do I. I’m a party person. The more the merrier. Loud music, drink, smoke and stimulating conversation. What I meant about the stern waring was that your lash out was lashed out. NO! You cannot say those things and challenge us! Who do you think you are?? Ozymandias? YOU must conform. YOU have no right to opinion. YOU work for US! Otherwise you’ll be put into time out. Screw them and tell all of your blogging friends and family about allpolyticsnow. The last line in Apocalypse Now was “the horror, the horror” Spoken by Marlon Bradndo as Cmdr Kurtz.. He also described a slug crawling along the knife edge or a zazor blade, which brings to mind the lyrics of the Police song Driven to Tears.

I am almost to the point of tears with all of the love and respect I am reading here. So happy to see this sandbox is full of adults!
